Billy Yocham Obituary, Whitney TX, Longtime Resident Dies At 69

Billy Yocham Obituary, Death – On Thursday, June 29th, 2018, Billy Ray Yocham, 69, of Whitney, Texas, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loved ones. Bimbo was born to Madine Bell (Shelton) and J.P. Yocham on April 28, 1954, in Whitney. He attended Hillsboro schools during his formative years as a Woodbury and Hillsboro resident.

In 1972, he wed Kathy Shamburger; the couple welcomed a son in April of 1976. In 1978, he married the love of his life, Hillsboro native Geraldine Renee Rawlins. After extensive globetrotting, he settled into a career as a driller in the oil industry. They raised two more children while residing in Hillsboro and Woodbury. Bimbo cared deeply about his children and tried to inculcate in them his incredible work ethic. His heart was as big as his grin. Taking his inner tube and fly rod out on the river was one of his favorite things to do. In the fishing world, he was famous for his “special stinkbait!” He was a professional pool player for a long time.

In a game, he faced and defeated “Fast Eddie.” He used to like chicken fighting and dirt track racing, but his true passion was riding his Harley. Bimbo spent 16 years with the Fleming Lumber Co. He changed careers later in life and has been working as a lineman for the past quarter-century and a half for businesses including Flowers Construction, Wing “T,” and most recently, Orbital Energy Group. In 2004, Bimbo and Geraldine made Whitney their permanent residence. Jesse, Trinity, Dalton, Cheyenne, River, Sophie, Layla, Jonathan, and Kennedy are his nine adorable grandchildren, and they all call him “Paw.” There will never be another like him, and he will be sorely missed.

His mom and dad, Madine and J.P. Yocham, both passed away before he was born. Gary Don Yocham, Jimmy Jay Yocham, and Bobby Herman Yocham are all brothers. One sibling, Brenda Kay Bauder. Bimbo is survived by his wife, Whitney resident Geraldine Yocham. Mother April and father Don’s son Jimmy Yocham. Gary Ray Yocham (little red) and Chrissy, his mother. The McManaways are Whitney’s family: Lindsy, their daughter, and Shaun, her husband. Numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends And his dog “Jake,” who he adores. Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Monday, July 3 from 6-8 pm. On Wednesday, July 5th, at 10am, there will be a funeral service at Peoria Cemetery.
