Tewkesbury High School Lockdown – Following the stabbing of a beloved educator in a hallway at Tewkesbury School, a young male student is currently being questioned on suspicion of attempting to murder the victim. After being assaulted at the Academy on Ashchurch Road shortly after 9 o’clock on Monday morning, the male instructor was transported to the hospital for treatment of a single stab wound.
According to Assistant Chief Constable Richard Ocone of the Gloucestershire Police, the academy was secured, and the doors of two neighboring schools were also instructed to be locked as a “precaution” A youngster from Tewkesbury is suspected of fleeing the scene of the crime and was apprehended by armed officers in the vicinity of Stoke Orchard around 11 in the morning.
A knife was located and brought to safety. The teacher remains in hospital in a stable condition, police said.
