Carol Fenimore Obituary, Death – Carol Fenimore, a beloved member of the Rushville community, passed away on July 8, 2023, at the age of 60. She peacefully departed this world at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Born on January 12, 1963, in Noblesville, Indiana, Carol was the daughter of the late James and Barbara J. (Patrick) Massie. Carol’s academic journey began at Rushville Consolidated High School, where she graduated in 1981. With a passion for animals, she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at Purdue University, which she obtained in 1985. Carol’s thirst for knowledge led her to Indiana University, where she studied for her Masters of Science.

On July 2, 1988, Carol married the love of her life, Dr. Craig Fenimore, and they shared a beautiful journey together. Craig survives her, cherishing the memories they created throughout their years of companionship. Carol embarked on a fulfilling career as an educator, making a positive impact on the lives of countless students. She taught at Morristown High School for five years before joining Rushville Consolidated High School in 2001. At RCHS, she dedicated herself to teaching Biology Freshman classes, instilling a love for science and learning in her students. Carol’s commitment and expertise led her to become the science department chairperson, where she continued to inspire both students and colleagues.

Additionally, she proudly sponsored the senior class, leaving a lasting impression on the graduating students she mentored. Beyond her professional achievements, Carol cherished her family and the time spent with them. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Chelsea Fenimore and Kera Fenimore, both of Franklin, Indiana. Carol’s nurturing spirit and unwavering support will forever guide and inspire her daughters throughout their lives. In addition to her immediate family, Carol is survived by her siblings, Dennis K. Massie of West Lafayette, Indiana, and Denise “DeeDee” (Don) Watkins of Galveston, Indiana. Their shared memories and the bond they shared will continue to be cherished by her siblings.

Carol’s memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her. She possessed a passion for cooking and collecting recipes, often delighting her family with her culinary creations. Nature called to her, and she found solace in camping, hiking, and bird watching. Her love for animals extended beyond the classroom, as she adored her fur babies and the joy they brought into her life. Carol Fenimore was a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she encountered. She will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for her family, students, and the natural world. Though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
