Following two years of National Service with the Royal Artillery, where he served as a driving instructor, Colin embarked on a career at EMEB in 1962. He faithfully served the company as a lorry driver for an impressive 36 years until his well-deserved retirement.

Colin’s commitment and professionalism endeared him to his colleagues, and he left a lasting impression on all who knew him during his time at EMEB. Outside of his work, Colin found solace and joy in his garden, where he poured his heart into cultivating vibrant and thriving plants, particularly his beloved tomato plants. His greenhouse was a sanctuary where he could tend to his green thumb and find peace in the beauty of nature. Additionally, he found delight in spending time with his car and caravan, embracing the freedom and adventure they provided.

Above all else, Colin was a devoted family man. He cherished the moments spent with his grandchildren, relishing in their laughter and forming lifelong bonds. His love and support knew no bounds, and his family held a special place in his heart. Colin’s warm presence and genuine care made him an invaluable member of his family, and his memory will forever live on in their hearts. Colin’s funeral will be held at Chesterfield Crematorium on Tuesday, July 11th, at 11:30 am.
