Denis Sullivan Obituary, Death – It was with great sadness that we learned of the demise of our club patron today; the Very Reverend Fr. Denis O’Sullivan, who was affectionately referred to as “Fr O” by everyone and everybody. He will be greatly missed. Everyone who lived in the parish of Monasterevin cherished Fr. O in the highest regard conceivable as a result of the tremendous efforts he took on their behalf. This was due to the fact that Fr. O had taken. Although he was born and raised in Portarlington, he received his education for the priesthood at the Irish College in Rome.
This is despite the fact that Portarlington is his birthplace and childhood home. Despite the fact that he was born and raised in Portarlington, this was the case. Because of this, Rome will always hold a significant place in his heart and will continue to do so throughout the rest of his life. This was an opinion that was shared not only by members of our club but also by residents of the Monasterevin neighborhood. Before he succeeded Father Paddy Shine as the parish priest and took over in the early 1980s, he had previously worked as a curate in the parish for a number of years prior to that point in time.
He had held this position for a number of years. Father Paddy Shine served as his predecessor in this position before he took it. He was requested to become the club patron as part of his responsibilities as a parish priest, and ever since then, he has continued to serve in this role. He was asked to become the club patron. Because of the work that he did, each and every one of us feels that we owe him a debt of appreciation, and we are saddened by the fact that the club has lost a friend as a result of his demise. Because of the work that he done, we consider it our responsibility to express our gratitude to him.
