Ken Carpenter Obituary, Owner Of Carpenters World Of Music Has Passed Away

Ken Carpenter Obituary, Death- We’ve lost a quiet titan. We are deeply saddened to learn that Ken Carpenter passed away recently as a result of a stroke. In 1980, in the Valley Mall, Hagerstown Music Center, he was my very first employer in the field of music instruction. I was only 18, and to this day, the fact that he placed trust in me as an employee so early on in my music career continues to astound and honor me. I followed him for nearly

a decade, from the time he launched his own business in the Zayres Shopping Center to the time he moved back to the Valley Mall and finally to his final site in the neighborhood on Halfway Boulevard. What a wonderful man, he was so creative and determined, and he contributed so much music, education, and service to the tri-state area that consists of

Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia. To this day, I am still influenced by him, and I’m sure there are a lot of other people who feel the same way. I miss his extremely dry sense of humor, the pool parties at his house, his skill to fix all the foolish junk I would inflict on my guitars, and the effort he devoted to being an entrepreneur. I miss him a lot. Sending my deepest condolences and love to Linda Carpenter. RIP Ken
