Matthew McGhee Obituary, Death – We must break the news to you with a sorrowful heart that Matt has passed away. Matt had a profound love for God, was enthusiastic about serving his nation, was completely obsessed with his beagles, and was committed to his family and the friends he held dear. He was blessed with a wonderful spirit and was able to pass on to everybody he met a unique love and a bright light that shone brightly in their eyes. He will be sorely missed in our lives. Matt never stopped aiming for the highest possible standard.
He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, served as a Sergeant First Class in the 82nd Airborne Division, and had completed six years of training to become a Green Beret in the Army Special Forces. As a result of his numerous injuries, he was medically dismissed from the military with distinction. After serving his country in the military, Matt worked tirelessly to earn a law degree. He was very close to completing his last semester at the University of Memphis School of Law when he was stolen from us all of a sudden.
The knowledge that he is with our Heavenly Father is a source of great solace. His mother, Lee Ann, his father, Rich, his sister, Mallory, and his grandparents, Bob Olea, Caroline, and Cornell Faquin, all of whom he had a deep respect for, are the ones he leaves behind. He will be much missed. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., and the service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on July 12, 2023 at Harvest Church. We would be honored if you could join our family in celebrating his life.
