Pascale Racine Obituary, Death –The office of the provincial coroner in Quebec’s Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean area is now undertaking an inquiry to determine the identification of the woman who was killed in a landslide that took place over the weekend. The landslide occurred over the weekend. Pascale Racine, age 44, was one of two people who passed away on Saturday in the town of Rivière-Éternité, which is located in the province of Quebec in Canada around 260 kilometers northeast of Quebec City. The other person who passed away was a man.
A woman by the name of Anne-Marie Lapointe was the other individual who left the group. Pascal Héon, 48 years old, was the second person to pass away suddenly as a direct result of the torrential rainfall that happened earlier in the week and resulted in landslides and flooding. The authorities have identified Pascal Héon as the deceased man. On Tuesday evening, divers from the police department discovered the skeleton remains of two people. Both of them had been drowned.
An engineer working for the provincial administration disclosed during a briefing that the victims were working to clear debris from a smaller landslide off of a road when a larger landslide occurred. The victims were killed in the incident. The road was blocked by the rubble that was left behind by the earlier, less significant landslide. One of the individuals who had been going with them was able to get away from the perilous situation by clinging to a tree and calling for rescue. Because of the storm, more than fifty people who lived in the town were forced to evacuate their homes in the course of just two hours, during which time there was a total of 130 millimeters of rain that fell.
