Ron Polancich Obituary, Death – The music education community mourns the loss of a beloved figure, Ron Polancich, who passed away on February 21, 2024, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Ron’s impact as a teacher, mentor, and family man reverberated throughout his forty-year career and beyond. Ron’s journey in music education began with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Augustana College in 1975, followed by a Master of Music in Conducting from Northwestern University in 1980. His passion for teaching led him to various roles, starting at Laraway School in Joliet. Notably, he served as Director of Bands at Highland Park High School and later at York High School in Elmhurst, where he also chaired the Music Department until his retirement in 2008.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights, followed by a Memorial Service on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
