Initially, she came to parkrun to spend quality time with her son, Simon, who inspired her to take up volunteering. From 2015 to 2020, Sally selflessly marshalled with us on an astonishing 140 occasions, showcasing her unwavering commitment to our beloved parkrun.
In 2017, Sally’s exceptional devotion to volunteering at Fell Foot was recognized and honored with Ron’s Event Director’s Shield. This prestigious accolade reflected her tireless efforts and the immeasurable impact she had on our community. Rain or shine, Sally was a constant presence, offering her encouragement and support to all participants, often stationed at the muddy gate, her trademark hat and trusty umbrella by her side. Sally’s warm and nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless individuals within our parkrun family. Her infectious enthusiasm and kind-hearted nature served as an inspiration to us all.
