Steve Heister Obituary, Death – Steve L. Heister, 62 years old, a resident of Andrew, Iowa, went away suddenly on Monday, July 10, 2023, at his residence. Morgan and Madonna (Manning) Heister welcomed their son Steve L. Heister into the world on May 4, 1961 in the town of Maquoketa, Iowa. His mother and his stepfather, Jim Clark, were responsible for his upbringing. In 1983, he wed Michelle Marie Feller at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa, after graduating from Maquoketa High School. Michelle Marie Feller was his high school sweetheart. Katie and Michael are the names of the two children who were born to this union. After some time, Michelle and Steve separated but have continued to be friends.
Over the course of more than four decades, Steve worked as a self-employed mechanic and owned and ran Steve’s Body Shop in Maquoketa. He relished engaging in activities such as restoring classic automobiles, getting together with friends and family, and, most of all, spending time with his offspring and grandchildren. Steve is survived by his children, Katie (Jason) Dondlinger of Bellevue, Iowa, and Michael (Ryanne) Heister of Andrew, Iowa; his father, Morgan Heister of Lisbon, Iowa; his five grandchildren, Jaden, Hailey, Chase, Jaymes, and Chloie; and his brothers, David Heister of Texas, Mike Heister of Zwingle, Iowa, Doug Clark of Texas, and Marty Clark of Maquoketa, Iowa.
Both his biological mother and his stepfather passed away before he did. A memorial service honoring Steve’s life will be conducted on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Steve will be missed by his family and friends. Rituals associated with cremation have been performed. Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Springbrook, Iowa is going to be the location of the private interment that will take place at a later time.
