Thomas C. Schafer Obituary, Bayou Dragon Guns & Indoor Shooting Ranges Member Has Passed Away

Thomas C. Schafer Obituary, Death – The news of the passing of a long-time family member who had been involved in both the Bayou Dragon and the GSSF has left us in a state of profound grief. Cmdr. Thomas C. Schafer, who had served in the Navy in the past and had retired from the military, passed away yesterday, on July 22, 2023.

He had been retired for some time. He has prior experience in the armed forces. Over the course of several years, Tom and Jack Pipa, who is Tom’s brother-in-law, served as range officials for our Glock competitions. Together, they logged a large amount of time at the range. Tom was a good-natured and helpful man who was always willing to aid people who were in need of assistance. Those who were in need of assistance could always count on Tom for assistance.

He was always ready to lend a helping hand when it was needed. The act of relating the various anecdotes that he had amassed over the course of his lifetime provided him with a great deal of fulfillment whenever he did so. We are going to miss having him here with us since it has been a wonderful experience overall having him with us. Given that you have lately taken back control of your wings, Tom, you are now in a position to soar to heights that are absolutely stunning.
