B Lab is going to collaborate with the We Mean Business Coalition (WMBC) in order to provide a wide variety of different materials that could assist businesses in cutting down on their emissions of greenhouse gases.
The World Mining and Business Council is made up of seven organizations that are not-for-profit and have the common objective of encouraging business action toward the transition to net zero. Because this goal is so closely related to the mission of B Lab, which is best recognized for its certification of environmentally responsible “B Corporations,” the two organizations have decided to collaborate in order to further their respective missions. They will work together to produce a set of tools and recommendations that will assist businesses in accelerating their efforts to reduce their carbon emissions.
According to Maria Mendiluce, chief executive of the World Meteorological and Biogeographic Center (WMBC), “this is our last chance to limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius, and decisive action is needed today to cut emissions and transition to a net zero economy powered by a global clean energy system.”
